regain your natural smile
A missing, badly damaged, painful or infected tooth or teeth may be addressed with dental implants. Dr. Smith’s first goal is to save your original tooth whenever possible; getting in to see him sooner rather than later improves your chances of keeping the natural tooth intact. When saving the original tooth is not an option, rest assured that Dr. Smith is very experienced at placing dental implants in Logan, UT area patients.
beautiful and comfortable
Dental implants are very durable alternative, since they are anchored into the jawbone like real teeth. Unlike bridges or dentures, dental implants won’t harm surrounding teeth or cause deterioration of the jawbone over time. You won’t have to worry about them coming loose when you talk, eat or smile. Additionally, implants won’t decay like natural teeth are prone to do.
how dental implants work
Once it is determined your original tooth cannot be saved, Dr. Smith will insert a titanium rod into your jawbone to replace the tooth root. Once installed, this rod will look a little like a small silver-colored bead on the gum. It typically takes between 4 to 6 months for the area to heal and the bone and implant to fuse. Once Dr. Smith deems it safe, he will perform a procedure to attach a tooth restoration to the implanted rod. The restoration will look and function like a real tooth, although you’ll want to take precautions to protect it from chipping or cracking.
Whether you need a single tooth replaced or an entire mouthful, Dr. Smith is here to help. We go above and beyond to ensure the comfort of our patients, and encourage you to call us to discuss dental implants in our Logan, UT office.
